It's been on my mind a lot these days...keep being reminded and hearing about good Christian girls getting hooked up with non-Christians. There's too many...too many i know...and it's weird how we always manage to avoid the issue. It's too sensitive...
Sometimes...in a bid to sound loving and accepting...i think i myself may have been swayed into thinking that this is a grey area...maybe the verses in the Bible are open to different interpretations. Afterall...there is no clear directive that says, "Thou shall not marry a non-believer." What is my stand? What should be my stand? More importantly, what really is God's stand on it?
In 2 Corinthians 6:14:
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
Is that really a clear directive on how we should choose our life-partners?
It IS God's Word...
was reading a Christian lady's very detailed, comprehensive & godly counsel for those who are heading that way...http://net-burst.net/ruth/mismatched.htm... counsel from someone who has never been through the pain and confusion of such relationships can sound harsh, judgemental and self-righteous...even if the counsel points to the Word of God...but when it comes from someone who's been through all that...somehow, we run out of that extra bit of excuse to disregard it...
I guess I'll have to learn to speak the truth in love...(Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Proverbs 27:6) Sometimes, I think we are too afraid to hurt our friends... more on that...

What about non believers who marry a christian? I have a friend who married a christian girl, goes to church with her and their family. i would not call him a believer at all. There are sacrifices to be made both ways. I guess it comes down to the individual and if the believe they are strong enough to enter such a relationship.
this isn't a grey area at all... the thing is there's so much pressure to get married and have kids... anyone who goes down the path of the unequal yoke will have to depend on God's mercy as well as His grace.
A relationship between a man and a women is never equal. Whether they be Christian or not. There is always going to be some sacrifice. Any sacrifice is never black nor white. It needs to be thought about carefully. The consequences considered. I wish it was so simple.
