what did i actually do in cambodia?

1) Most of our time was spent learning how to build the earth-tank. This is for storing rainwater in a clean, hygienic way for use in times of drought...better than dirty river water or sometimes arsenic well water...

2) Learning about waterfilters...to filter all the yucky, harmful stuff from well-water or river water...clean enough to drink!

3) more tanks, filters and water pumps! simply amazing...

4) bit of pottery...tried my hand at it....pretty difficult! they made mini versions of the earthtanks and water-filters...very cute....as well as the cambodian nativity clay figures...

5) They also make cheap soap to get rid of scabies & lice...teach ladies or women in need to make it on their own to earn some money as well... There's also odourless pig farming...really! not smelly at all...there's goat farming...chickens & turkeys...an ostrich as well...

6) Lastly, pictures of the place where we stayed in...they're actually used containers...fitted with bunks and bathrooms in side...i stayed on the top container...2nd floor... Picture of me & Zei (short for Isaiah)... We stayed in the same compound as the American family who hosted us. The father is the one who started RDI...wife is homeschooling their 4 adorable kids...2 older daughters who are really sweet (13 & 11 yrs-old) and twin boys (9 yrs-old). They really made me feel at home...they were super nice and friendly...played with the kids a lot...ate most of our meals at their house at the same table...used their computer to access internet...the wife made lots of nice dessert while we were there! chocolate-covered peanut butter, brownie pizza & cookies... I even got to help put up their Christmas tree with the girls...really thankful for this family and their love for the Cambodians...as well as their great hospitality... The picture of the kids smiling is a Christmas party I attended....just sat in to see what they were doing. Apparently, there's a Bible teacher who goes to this nearby village to teach a group of kids Bible stories and tell them about God...so when I went, it was around Christmas...so they had a party after the story of Jesus' Birth...the kids were all so enthusiastic and eager to learn...very heart-warming to see great rapport between the Bible teacher and the kids!
